Shawnee County Employee Claims Gender Discrimination
TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) – A Shawnee County employee has filed a gender discrimination lawsuit against the county commission.
Kristy Workman, previously known as Kristy Moore, is seeking at least $75,000 in damages on each of four separate counts.
The complaint states she’s worked with the county since 1987 and had received great reviews until November 1999. The suit says she was retaliated against because she complained of discrimination.
Workman filed a complaint with the Kansas Human Rights Commission in April of 2010. They closed the case in November. She also filed with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, which, on February 11th, gave her the right to sue.
