Phoenix restaurant Uncle Bear’s Grill & Bar ordered to pay overtime

The Department of Labor has ordered Phoenix restaurant chain, Uncle Bear’s Grill & Bar, to pay over $115,000 in overtime pay to over 50 workers at the restaurants because they violated the Fair Labor Standards Act or “FLSA.” Many of the employees worked over 60 hours a week but were only paid straight time, not time-and-a-half for the hours over 40. Some of the employees lost as much as $300 per month.

The FLSA requires that covered employers pay non-exempt employees $7.25 per hour minimum wage and time-and-a-half for overtime.
